Most of us decorate the entire house in the same time for many reasons. The need to use the space is one of important matter and also the mess created during construction or renovation. Of course after a while we get bored and want to try something new, but let’s face it, costs have always been a problem. The solution would be to decorate just one key room and to give personality which will spread into the entire house. Let’s take a look at some decorative ideas :
Do not place the whole furniture against the walls. The living-room is a place where you are supposed to socialize, to talk to friends, so if the chairs and sofas are against the walls and away from each other – this will make the conversations impossible. SO make sure you create conversation areas like a sofa and two chairs placed around a coffee table. If the living-room has a large TV set, create the interest area around it. Consider the room’s dimensions when arranging the furniture because you must not use too much furniture when the room is smaller or it will look really crowded. It is also important to leave enough space for traffic lanes, at least 20-24 inches. Nowadays people prefer the minimalist style in decorating the living-room, but you can make your own choices as long as you keep these basic rules.
Don’t go too far as to hang animal trophies on the walls, even if you are a hunter, as it shows cruelty. The fireplace though is absolutely a must for a nice looking rustic living room, whether it is genuine and totally functional or only decorative. The floor can be covered with wood or stone and all the electronic gadgets that fill a modern persons life simply don’t fit here and you’d better save them somewhere else if you can’t live without them. The predominant color of the rustic living room is brown, but you can add some sweet shades of white, beige or crimson for making the place more lively. There’s no room for the tall chairs, but you should use sofas and small comfortable stools. Use only natural fibers in the room and you will feel closer than ever to nature.
These are some very nice example of how you can accomplish that without a lot of effort. You just need to have a sense of style and to know how to naturally combine colors and patterns. For example, the first design uses warm tones of red, pink and brown, with some orange and yellow accents. The image is uniform and pleasant. The second design is a little more light and fun and combines patterns and colors that have nothing in common but that still look very nice together.
