Adette Brotz furniture, 2017-11-09 06:30:26. Our enthusiasm for DIY projects involving Ikea products led us to explore a bit more the versatility of the Ikea Lack Table. There’s actually a whole series entitled like that and it includes a TV unit, coffee table, side table and some wall shelves. Today we’ll only focus on the tables, trying to find ways to integrate them into ingenious projects. Let’s start with a simple transformation. For this project you can use either a Lack or a Hemnes table which are both Ikea coffee tables. Get some wooden boards and cut them to size so you can make a tabletop. Stain them and measure the center of the table so you know where to place the first board. Clamp each end down and then add the others the same way. Glue and screw all the boards, turn the table upside down and put something heavy on the middle. Let it sit overnight, add more screws in the center of each board but on the underside so you don’t see them.

The fireplace though is absolutely a must for a nice looking rustic living room, whether it is genuine and totally functional or only decorative. The floor can be covered with wood or stone and all the electronic gadgets that fill a modern persons life simply don’t fit here and you’d better save them somewhere else if you can’t live without them. The predominant color of the rustic living room is brown, but you can add some sweet shades of white, beige or crimson for making the place more lively. There’s no room for the tall chairs, but you should use sofas and small comfortable stools. Use only natural fibers in the room and you will feel closer than ever to nature.

As you can see in the above image, a salvaged cabinet comes alive in the kitchen, giving it an interesting piece of furniture that could have been part of a living room in its previous life. By leaving salvaged items a little worn and torn, this further makes them unique creations in the kitchen, while preventing waste in the environment. Stone in the kitchen is always a great natural material, but you can also choose from stone countertops that are made from recycled materials. This takes the green initiative one step further. Stone can be trendy and colorful, as can be seen from the countertop in the above image that is made from recycled wine, beer and Vodka bottles.

More accessible than they would be crammed into a cupboard or deep drawer, these pots make very efficient use of what would otherwise be wasted wall space. This unique and wildly efficient cup/mug hanger simply slides onto your existing shelf. It requires no screws or any other assembly. This is a highly effective use of the “dead space” that inevitably falls in the top 1/3 of most cupboards.

If you’ve created a makeshift island, then create a makeshift cabinet by hanging them up underneath! Use a coat rack or another thrifted piece as a pot rack. Grab some metal or brass hooks and then situate the piece according to your need. You can create a wall for your pots too. Instead of just hooking up a rack, create something a bit unique. A chalkboard wall, with each pot’s outline will make an artistic spin on the usual organization. Section out a nook to keep the pots and pans hung and accessible but without them in view. Use a space underneath the island, breakfast counter or cabinets.

It’s a color we often stay away from when decorating our homes and that’s not really fair. If used in the right proportions and balanced with the rest of the décor, red can actually be a very cheerful and elegant color. So let’s see how that would work out. Red walls are a very daring option. But you have to be careful in this case because it’s easy to overdo it. If you paint all the walls in the room red, then the rest of the décor should remain neutral. To make the ambiance a bit less striking, perhaps a single red accent wall would be a better option.

Normally this kind of room also includes the last minute technology, with huge TV screens, modern furniture and even the decorations are modern and simple like a vase in only one color and some spread round candles around. Glass coffee tables and futuristic chairs are a very good idea. The colors that are preferred for these arrangements are: black, white, beige, a combination of those or only one hot color like red or pink or maybe electric blue , but only if you combine them with the above mentioned colors.
