Julian Achterop living room, June 11th , 2017. All the rest is optional. You can also use a bookcase or some bookshelves, a nice looking shelf for displaying decorations, a huge plasma TV set and maybe a plant. That is all. All the furniture pieces must be simple, without adornments and other things that might show bad taste. It is all about simplicity that generates good taste design. The most important rule here is to use only the minimum necessary, to use only one, two or maximum colors in designing the room and also to stick to the simple things. No floral patterns, different shaped , stripes or some other crazy or very crowded things.
Adette Brotz living room, May 27th , 2017. Here you can see how an open floor plan deals with red accent walls. The color suits the space well especially in combination with all the beige. The dark accents are a nice way of highlighting certain areas and furniture pieces and there’s a really nice balance throughout. A slightly different option is to use red as an accent color for the walls without actually painting them entirely. For example, if you have a recessed nook in the room for reading you can have that portion painted red while the rest of the wall is a neutral and less striking color.
Adaliz Bader living room, June 11th , 2017. The first thing to do is to paint the walls of the living room in black and white. But do not paint them exactly like a chess board because this would be too tiring for the eyes. You can though paint one wall white and the opposite black. Then use some or all of the decorating items presented here, all of them chess-themed. Or you can try to combine a checkered coffee table in black and white and maybe some nice looking ceramic supports for the books. Hang a beautiful post-modernist painting on the wall and the effect will be amazing. Just make sure you do not fill up the room with chess-related items because too much is too much in everything you want to do. So keep it simple, but in good taste.
Lucas Abelen furniture, June 11th , 2017. Fluid draping and the fine details of fabrics rendered in marble — these are the hallmarks of classic 16th and 17th century Italian sculptors like Bernini and Michelangelo. Fast forward to 2017 and California designer Sean Knibb is putting a modern spin on the same concept with his Casa Canova collection. Knibb, a well-known landscape designer who has also made his mark with interior designs that “elevate” everyday items, became taken with 18th century sculptor Antonio Canova. Canova was a master of neoclassicism and is often credited with reviving the art of sculpture, which had diminished over time. His dynamic treatment of fabrics and draping was stunning.
Abella Babin living room, May 25th , 2017. Nowadays people prefer minimalistic and modern designs inside their homes and decorate them according to their tastes and money, of course. But sometimes, these styles just don’t fit your house and you have to find the perfect style that will both satisfy your view and be comfortable , too. Let’s take the houses situated near the mountains or woods or the little cabins you use only on holiday and, why not, the little towns houses and even the big ranches some of you might have. They simply can’t follow this line of home design fashion. And I think the most appropriate style for them is the rustic one.

This zigzag headboard has a similar effect as the wallpaper headboards above, but the supply of choice is fabric stiffened with starch. With the help of an iron and an eye-catching pattern, the results are crisp and clean!

Adalicia Bellerose kitchen, June 11th , 2017. Usually the corner space in any room is wasted space and this may not be a big problem in the living room or bedroom but in the kitchen any inch of space is valuable. So take advantage of the corner space and install drawers or open shelves. If you want to keep the knives off the counter top and close at hand, you could have a custom-designed piece like this one. The knives are stored inside the counter top. Such a design comes with restrictions. The knives must be completely encased so the blades don;t interfere with the contents of the drawers. I find pullout shelves to be very practical. It’s usually very annoying to have to get a dish or a pan at the back of the shelf and this system makes things a lot easier. Pull-out spice racks are also very functional. They occupy very little space and they’re easy to use.
