They say chess is the sport for mind and that it goes a long way back in history, being played by the Orient kings. I love chess and so do many other people, some of them even being so passionate about it that they want to reflect their passion in the way they arrange their homes, so they want to arrange a chess-themed living room. It’s not so hard to do that, as you can find enough chess-themed objects on the Internet, in the online stores, but you must be careful not to exaggerate and obtain an unwanted result.
These living rooms are all different and they all stand out in a unique way but they all share in common their elegance and beauty. The designer usually focuses on one element. For example, it could be pattern. A striped pattern, for example, can be the core of a design but it can be seen in several variations throughout the room. Another element that links everything together could be symmetry or sometimes the color palette or the finishes.
If you like the color’s dramatic character, then you can emphasize it through accent lighting. A long red curtain or an accent wall with spotlights directed on it can become the focal point of a room. Red has a theatrical nature and you can definitely use it to your advantage. People think it’s very easy to arrange the furniture in the house, especially in the living room. But it takes more than spreading the furniture pieces randomly in the living-room to obtain a good impression, a balanced livingroom design that feels welcoming, cosy and nice looking, all at the same time.
