The first rule in arranging the furniture in a livingroom is to see where the wall plugs are and to avoid covering them with any furniture. If you do that it will only make things more complicated, as you will not have easy access to the outlet and you will have to use extendable ones and this way you increase the hazard risk. So avoid covering them. The second tip is to spread the furniture in an even manner all over the livingroom. Avoid placing all the furniture in one place, for example one one side of the room or near the same wall, as it will be totally asymmetric and it will give the viewer the impression of a “sinking ship”. You remember the “Titanic”.
Of course, neutrals aren’t the only viable option. Red is quite versatile and can pair well with lots of different colors. Blue is one of them and, even though the combination may seem surprising and odd at first, given the right color tones it can actually look really chic. You can also choose to stay away from all the drama usually associated with the red color without giving up this shade altogether. For instance, you can choose a faint of pastel shade of red as your accent color and you can combine with other similar colors for a cohesive and harmonious effect.
It’s the perfect balance between white and blue and the shade of blue is perfectly chosen to create an almost surreal living room design. At least I thought I was in heaven when I saw the two pictures. The immaculate white walls contrast in a pleasant way with the blue of the curtain and the couches are both blue and white , sitting on a wooden flooring that is unusual in color but still remarkable. Even though I have never seen blue flooring before, I must admit it is not artificial at all, but looks pretty nice.
All the rest is optional. You can also use a bookcase or some bookshelves, a nice looking shelf for displaying decorations, a huge plasma TV set and maybe a plant. That is all. All the furniture pieces must be simple, without adornments and other things that might show bad taste. It is all about simplicity that generates good taste design. The most important rule here is to use only the minimum necessary, to use only one, two or maximum colors in designing the room and also to stick to the simple things. No floral patterns, different shaped , stripes or some other crazy or very crowded things.
