Usually this space has a contemporary interior design. It’s a choice based on convenience and versatility. But there are numerous different variations for this style. Each designer has his or her own rules when transforming a space. Today we’re going to analyze the work of Ammie Kim, a talented interior design that prefers modern and elegant decors and who has been named one of the Great Women of the 21st century by the American Biographical Institute. As you can see, she prefers a combination of classical and modern elements.
But paint isn’t the only way to get a sunny interior. You can also create a lovely yellow living room design just by simply adding strong accent pieces such as the stripes, the drapes, the rug, the lamps, the pendants r the pillows. These are always simple ways of introducing color into a décor. Still, you don’t have to limit to this unique color. There are lots of great color combinations that include yellow such as blue, green, brown or the complementary purple. The classic yellow and blue combo is always beautiful. It’s the perfect combination of elegance and dynamism.
The first rule in arranging the furniture in a livingroom is to see where the wall plugs are and to avoid covering them with any furniture. If you do that it will only make things more complicated, as you will not have easy access to the outlet and you will have to use extendable ones and this way you increase the hazard risk. So avoid covering them. The second tip is to spread the furniture in an even manner all over the livingroom. Avoid placing all the furniture in one place, for example one one side of the room or near the same wall, as it will be totally asymmetric and it will give the viewer the impression of a “sinking ship”. You remember the “Titanic”.
The first thing to do is to paint the walls of the living room in black and white. But do not paint them exactly like a chess board because this would be too tiring for the eyes. You can though paint one wall white and the opposite black. Then use some or all of the decorating items presented here, all of them chess-themed. Or you can try to combine a checkered coffee table in black and white and maybe some nice looking ceramic supports for the books. Hang a beautiful post-modernist painting on the wall and the effect will be amazing. Just make sure you do not fill up the room with chess-related items because too much is too much in everything you want to do. So keep it simple, but in good taste.
